Governing Outside the Law

Turns out that Governor Gregoire really, really wants to put another bullet into the patella of the free market. So much so, she is willing to violate her properly defined role as Governor. She does this by promulgating an executive order…that has the exact same effect as a recent bill rejected by the state legislature! You think judges “legislating from the bench” are bad? When a governor does it, this becomes absolutely frightening. This conclusion is inescapable whether or not you believe in climate change. It is an abuse of power.
