Local Money for Local Issues

Budget deficits have not only gripped matters on a national level, but have wreaked havoc on local governments as well. Here in Washington, Olympia cut six million from the Battle Ground School District (BGSD) this year and is said to be looking at cutting an additional seven million next year.
My husband and I personally met with BGSD Superintendant, Dr. Shonny Bria, and her senior staff members regarding this issue. It was clearly demonstrated to us the BGSD is making every effort possible to be fiscally responsible and that these are indeed dire times for our schools, our kids, and our community.
However, If you are like me and believe strength comes from the individual, not Olympia, and that local matters are best handled at local levels, not bureaucrats in Olympia or D.C., please vote yes on the 2010 Levy.
Our kids. Our schools. A strong community.
